How to create a Facebook vs. Instagram performance report?

You can build a Facebook vs. Instagram report using Facebook Ads Metric Builder in Databox. Follow these steps:

  1. Open Metric Builder and select Facebook Ads as the data source.

  2. Choose whatever Metric you want to report on like Spend, Impressions, Reach, Clicks..

  3. Select Publisher Platform as the dimension.

This will enable you to compare metrics across both platforms within the same report.


You can apply this dimension to key performance metrics, such as:

  • Spending - Where do you spend the most?

  • Reach or Impressions - How many people are seeing your content?

  • Clicks and CTR - Where are people most interested in my content?

  • Post engagement - How is my audience engaging on each platform? Is engagement higher on Instagram even if you're spending more on Facebook? Should you reallocate your budget?

You can use these metrics to build a databoard which will help visualize performance by publisher platform while tracking key KPIs. Since metrics are adjustable, you can also include CPM, frequency, and other relevant indicators for your tracking.
